Travel when AOS

Hi there,

We will be applying for AOS by the end of this month. Is it advisable to travel to India during this time and appear for visa interview?
1. My husband is a permanent employee and he will have to go for H1b stamping
2. I had a change of status from h4 to a new h1 from Oct 2011, and will have to appear for stamping.

Someone please advise the risks.
