Birth Certificate for 485 filing

Hello,

My Priority date is almost current and i was told i need a birth certificate for the 485 filing. I do not have the original birth certificate. however, based off of my passport, i had visited the Indian embassy US and gotten a birth certificate issued from there.

My question is will this work in the filing for 485 since i am getting mixed answers from my friends?

Also, what all documents do i need to arrange for the 485 filing?
