Adjustment status question

Hi!
My name is Natalie and I'm international F-1 student. I entered USA in August 2011 and had full-time classes in a college for Fall semester 2011.
I got marriage in January 2012 and now I'm waiting for my marriage certificate to complete all support documents for Forms I-130 and I-485.
I know that I can stay inside the country for 60 days after I finished my education.
But if my certificate won't be ready and I can't to send my documents till this date will I be out of status?
Should I inform the immigration office somehow about my marriage and
all the situation?
Please help me to make it legal and to avoid any problems in the future. Or just tell me who can give me this information.

Marriage Certificate

Congratulations on your marriage. The certified copy of the marriage certificate usually takes about three weeks. I got married on 28-Dec 2010, and I received the marriage certificate on 14-Jan-2012. It should not take too long. As soon as you get that document and the others that you need…send off the Change of Status ASAP to start that long process. I hope this helps.
