My 485 approved - Spouse pending

Hi

My I-485 is approved and I have even received my green card about a month back. However my spouse (who is on dependent on mine) is still not approved.

I wanted to know if anyone can let me know what happens if my employment ceases (either terminiation or resignation) to my wife's status?

I have already enquired with USCIS and all they can say both applications are treated independent to each other and hers is still in progress. Any information on this will be very helpful.

I am also in similar situation. I got my approval 2 weeks back & got plastic card also. But my wife & child 485 is still pending. Have u received ur spouse GC ? Let me know how much time it took ?

Hi,

I don't think either of you need worry about your spouse's application. This happens all the time!
My husband too got his GC last year in May and I've only just got my approval now.
Your resignation/ change of jobs, does not affect your spouses application at all. My husband too changed jobs after he got his GC and it did not in any way hamper my application.
However Rahul, I think now that you have your GC, your wife and kids can no longer be on H4 status, since your H1 doesn't stand anymore. So if you all are planning to travel out of the country, make sure you apply for Advance Parole before you do so as they cannot travel on H4.

Hey, my 485 was approved and i recieved my GC 2 weeks back but wife's case is still pending (even though she got her EAD and AP at the same time as mine (6 months back).
did you get your spouse's GC now?
