Biometrics appointment

Hi,

We filed I-485 in first week of Jan. We received receipt in 2nd week of Jan. Since then we have been waiting for our biometrics appointment letter. It is going to be a month we have not received letter. Can anybody tell me how long does it take to get biometrics appointment letter? Does it depend on service center? Do we need to submit service request in case we do not receive it by next week? :-(

the same thing happened after my husband and i sent our forms in december.It does depend on the service center because some are busier than others.We sent the forms on december 30th, they received them on jan 3rd and we got an email on that same day, 2 days later we got the hard copy in the mail and it said that the next step would be the biometrics. We sent them to chicago but they transferd them to NBC.We were getting really frustrated because we spend almost a month without receiving the biometrics appointment. On february 2nd I received an email stating that we have been scheduled for the interview on march 6th . No biometrics.
