Can I keep my priority date if I have alien registration number?

Hi there,

Can I keep my priority date from my previous employer if I have alien registration number generated as result of I-140 approval?
(And just to be double sure can you confirm, the A123 123 123 on my H1 approval is actually the alien registration number) ?
