anyone knows how long it takes for visa to come available

Had interview 03/03/11 IO told me my GC number was given away and I should get my card by DEC 2011 or Feb2012. What has me confuse is that she did not look at any of the document I was told to bring with me, She just had me raise my right hand and swear to tell the truth ask a few questions and told me not to worry I will get the card in the mail. It's been over one year and nothing. Show I get a lawyer or just wait , I called the customer service they told me my case is outside the normal processing time so they sent an inquire to the office i had my interview, which in turn sent me a letter telling me my case was sent to NBC in Mo and my priority date is not current . Anyone who has any idea why this is taking so long.

Hey, you didn't mentioned what type of this case.
Is it by Marriage to US Citizen, or Assylum or Employment based (EB1, EB2, EB3 etc) or religious.

If your case is by employment then it will be on priority date based. Check the latest visa bulletan.
If it is marriage based then it's different story. Once you let us know the exact type then we can comment.
