I-485 Confused

Hello,

I live in NYC. I filed for AOS and just got done with all the paperwork and sent it in. I was wondering what if anything is next. I also filed for EAD. My main problem is not getting a job but the ability to use a car and get a driver license. My lawyer said I should get a notice for biometrics and then stuff would go on from there. I was wondering if any of you guys had experience with getting a license (even just a temp one) from DMV while waiting for EAD.

Any help/suggestion woud be greatly appreciated.

I am in the same situation...I filed for AOS and EAD. I live in Florida. DMV guys told me that I can't get a driver's license until I have the EAD.
