hi there!
my wife and i went in for her green card interview two weeks ago and our decision arrived today..."DENIED". the official reason is that after a "query of USCIS systems failed to show that an individual with your [her] name, country of citizenship and alleged admission date was inspected and admitted into the United States on [date]." a second reason that was given explaining the decision was the fact that my wife supposedly failed to give the correct port of entry into the US.
now, what is most disconcerting is that as part of the papers we brought to the interview was the original copy of her passport with the stamp as well as the original I-94 with her name, nationality, and port of entry as well as the date. if that isn't proof, then what is??
as for the second reason, my wife had always been traveling to and from the US as a child and during the interview, she didn't remember the exact port of entry because it wasn't really significant for her.
since USCIS interviewer took the original I-94 with her after the interview, what exactly should i do now? i definitely have a copy of the all the documents we gave to her but how are we to go about fighting the reasons for denial?
thanks for any advice, it'd be hugely appreciated!
