  • Child of immigrant married to US citizen

I'm 19, and my mother got married to a US citizen so we are now in the process of obtaining green cards. I have already received my EAD and SS#.

Surprisingly, I was sent a letter asking me to attend an interview as well as my mother and her spouse. Can anyone give me information on this? Will my application my denied if my mother and her spouse fail the interview? Or is this a completely separate process, just for my status. Any information will be appreciated, this whole situation is very stressful. Thanks!

The interview is to make sure the marriage is genuine. And not a marriage for immigration
    benefits.
