Hello all!
I am getting married to a USC in August and we are preparing what we need for my green card application. Right now we are looking through the Affidavit of support and have a few questions. Any help to guide us is very much appreciated.
1, my Fiance was a student up until jan 2012 and did not make much in income before then. His tax returns from previous 3 years will not show sufficient enough income. He is however making above the income requirements since feb 2012. Will this be enough? We are thinking about getting a co sponsor.
2, He can not seem to find his w-2 and 1099 from past years. What can we do about this?
3, If we get a sponsor (his father) do we send in only the I-864 from his father?
I have spent hours and hours reading this forum, and it is absolutely wonderful. I think we might be able to save money and do this without a lawyer thanks to this forum.
I am currently on a f1 Visa and came here in Jan 2011. I met my fiance in July the same year and we have been inseparable since our first date. We have been living together for 8 months now. We are both on the lease and we also share a bank account. We even have a cute little dog. I am a bit nervous that it seems suspicious that we will get married after only 14 months together. Does anyone have similar experiences? Especially since I am here on a student visa and met my boyfriend after only 5 months in the US. We are planning a civil ceremony and my mother will be coming from my country to attend. Unfortunately his family can not make it due to work. Any thoughts on the bona fide part?
Like I said, I really don't want to do this wrong so please any advise is appreciated.
Thanks.
