waiting for my GC
Just want to share my experience after the interview.
Last May 30, 2012 my husband had an interview for the adjustment of my status. The interview went well and my application was approved that very same day. My husband and were very happy and the Immigration Officer told us that my GC will be sent to us thru mail in 3 to 4 weeks. While waiting for my GC to be mailed, I keep on checking my case status online and I was wondering why was it still in the Testing/Review step when it was already approved. After 5 weeks, i still haven't received my GC so I called the CSC to inquire why I still haven't got it. The CSC then made the service request and told me that they will be forwarding my inquiry to the Office handling my case and also told me to wait for 15 days for them to respond to my inquiry thru mail. 15 days past and got nothing from CSC so i called them again after which i got a mail from them after my 2nd and the letter was just saying that my case is still in process and that I have to contact them again after 180 days. I was very disappointed with the way the CSC acted on my inquiry.
I decided to make an Infopass appointment. Last Aug.3, 2012 I went to USCIS (in SFV) to personally inquire. When my turn came the lady in the window asked me the purpose of my Infopass appointment so I told her that we were interviewed last May 30, 2012, approved and was told by IO to wait for my GC 3 t0 4 weeks in the mail but it has been 2 months and still haven't got it yet. So she checked on our records and told us that she has to get our file to see the reason for the delay. After a few minutes she came back to us and told us that the IO who interviewed us forgot to give our file to the one who is assigned to enter it to their system and to order the card production. The lady who assisted us kept saying "sorry" for what had happened. She even told us that it's a good thing that we made an Infopass appointment. She told us that they will be updating my case status online and that they I can have my GC within 10 working days. Thank God that I did what I did instead of just calling CSC. Am now very happy and have more peace of mind knowing that there really is no problem about my application... Will let you know when I finally get my GC...
