Driving while waiting for Green Card

I have a US drivers license, but it expired when my visa expired. I do not have an international drivers license. While waiting for the green card, what are the options for obtaining a drivers license that is valid?

The rules vary depending on what state you’re in. You might be able to get a license using an EAD card or an I-797 for the I-485, showing your legal presence. I would recommend you to go to the DMV/SOS office and ask them. If it doesn’t work, try with another office. Sometimes they’re not completely aware of the rules themselves.
