Hi,
We got married last month, and received our GCs in the mail last week. However, my wife's GC has her maiden name on it, because her passport has her maiden name. We have our original marriage certificate. Any idea how we could go about getting my wife's name changed for the GC, and how long this takes?

Not Legal Advice:

You need to do the following:

1 - Get a new passport in the married name.

2 - File an I-90 at the local INS Office for a new card (cost is around $130).

Passport is critical. You will have problems if it is not in married name - since that is where the stamp will go.

A new card will take around 4 to 10 months to arrive. When you get it you can then change over drivers Licences, SSN etc.
