I have a green card (Jan 26 01), and have been accepted into a UK university to study medicine, which is a 5 year course. UK is my country of citizenship. I will be taking the American board exams etc so that I can practice medicine here in the US eventually.
What do I need to do to keep my green card?
1) Should I come back every holiday and over summer so that I am not away for more than 6 months at a time? (my preferred idea as I have property, driver's license and bank accounts here that need to be managed)
2) Should I apply for repeated re-entry permits every 2 years or a special immigrant visa upon final return?
3) Is there any kind of permit/visa that will allow me repeated entry into the US and then a final entry once I have finished my course?
