    Hi,

    My friend's parents received their green cards 6 months ago through family sponsorship. Since they are above the age of 60, I was wondering if they are eligible for Social Security Benefits.

    For most benefits, a person have to have 40 credits, i.e., has to have worked for 10 years in the US.
