  • Plastic Card Question - All old-timers here :-)

    Hi,

I was just browsing thru' these forums - It seems like a REALLY LONG time since I used to frequent them - And I see all these old-timer names here .. Just a lot of nostagia "The epic struggle for CP" :-)

Anyways, Looks like most of you have got your plastic cards by now. I am still waiting for mine - although, my wife already got hers about couple of months back. It came from a Texas address.

As everyone has noted, the number is ALWAYS busy. Looks like I can go to local INS office and file I-90 form ?? Any other bright ideas on how to proceed ?

    Thanks,
    - Ace.

    Welcome back Ace,
In my case, Me and my wife didn't receive the cards yet.
    DOE: June 09, 2001
I called TSC, They told me the cards were mailed on 11/03/01
    but I never received them.
I went to INS local office in dallas, They asked me to mail the I90 applications, one for me and one for my wife.
along with the $110 checks per application.
    I mailed the 2 applications on 01/30/02
I saw that the 2 checks were posted.
I called TSC this week, They said they didn't recieve my I90 application yet, They said it should come within 1 month.
They told me, Once they get the I90, It should take 10 days to issue the card.

    So I am still waiting.

      What is SRC number ?

I think I read something about a SRC number. Can anyone enlighten me about it ? Do I need it before I call the TSC number to find out about my plastic card ?

Thanks for replying Mimo123. All the best.

      - Ace.

        Re: SRC #

The SRC# is the case #. Each service center has their own 3-letter code at the beginning of the case #. For TSC, it is SRC.

Each case pending with INS has a case #. This number is printed on your receipt.
There is only one problem for people who did CP, and ententered on an IV: they only have their A# and don't know the case# for the card processing. It is supposed to be possible to call TSC during office hours and obtain the case# that corresponds to the A#, but besides problems of getting through during daytime, if you get through, the IIOs most often claim that they can't find the case#. So in this case, you just have to wait for the card to show up.

NEED help- did not receive plastic card

            Hi Everyone!

I have a similar problem like Ace.
My POE was 8th May 2001 (San Francisco). My husband received his plastic card in Sept 01. I still have not got mine. I would like to renew my I-551 stamp. My office suggested I do it 60 days before stamp expires. Any suggestions what I need to carry to the INS office ? someone suggested 3 photographs and the 140 receipt? Also my passport?

            Awaiting replies.
            Sincerely
            Pia

              Renewal of stamp

              Hi-

Are you going to apply for a new plastic green card when you get your stamping done?

If you're applying for a new card, claiming that the first one was lost, go to the INS website and look up their list of forms available online. You need form I-90. You can print it out with instructions on what attachments need to be filed with it. The filing fee is $130.

When you're ready to go to the INS, call the 1-800-375-5283 customer service number to be sure you're going to the right INS office. This number is not usually busy, and you can talk to a real person. They'll give you a new stamp at the INS.

Please let me know what I need to carry with me? 2 photographs and I-140 receipt and my passport?

                  I-90

                  Hi-

You need to bring with you:

                  Completed I-90 form
Filing fee for $130, made out to INS
                  Photocopy of green card stamp
Two photographs, just like the ones you had done for gc
Copy of driver's license, ID card, or ID page of passport
passport (no need to copy it, just bring it)

This will get you a replacement green card and a new stamp in your passport.

You can bring a copy of your I-140, but I don't think it's needed. The lines at San Jose can be long though, so it's better to bring too much info instead of too little.
