Child birth in India

Hi

If parents have permanent residency and decide to have the child delivered in India what visa category will the child be required to apply? How long does it take after getting the passport for the child.

No visa need

No visa need. if the child enter into US with in a year with parent(either one).
Just contact your local embassy and they will give the letter and bring that letter with you while travel. You need to do some paper work in immigration time (arrival) and they will take your baby photo and send the GC with in 3 months that’s it....

Please don't mind me asking this, several people and lawyers quote this law, but I am really looking forward to someone posting their experiences, who has used this law to bring their baby back into the U.S..

You have also said that, one has to contact the local embassy when you travel. You are talking about the local U.S. embassy in India right. Any idea how long it will take to get that letter ?
