I am a professional here, age- 42 yrs.
We have received our greencard in may 2012. ( Myself, my wife and my son – 11 yrs than ). We have visited USA in may 2012, stayed there for 1 month and came back here with return permit.
Now second time, we have to go to USA before august 2014. What is better for us – we should surrender our green card before going there or once again we go there and apply for a return permit for 2nd time and stay there for 4-5 weeks only ? We don’t want my minor son to surrender his green card.
We are definitely not going to settle in USA.
But my son is in 7th std. here with age 12 yrs. We want to keep his Green card active , while me and my wife intend to surrender the green card and opt to have 10 years visitor usa visa.
So, is it possible to surrender 2 adult green card and keep one green card for minor active , so if my son wish a higher study after 5 yrs ( after 12th exam ) or after 9 yrs ( after his college completion in india ) ??
During this long time, every year, he will have to travel to usa can cause any problem at airport duringimmigration ? for students here with green card – do they ask anytime to decide – whether to stay in USA or India and don’t allow this frequent up/down every year with stay of 2 weeks in USA ?
My main query – is there any option – if my son is studying here can US Immigration give exemption for him from visiting every year to USA and still green card is valid ? Or can he get Return Permit every 2 years for next 5-10 years ??
If he has to visit every year to USA till he decides his future- till age 22 yrs, it will be very costly. Also he is minor and someone has to accompany him every year till he is major / mature enough.
Is it possible – we all surrender our green card now and after 2 months again my same sister in USA apply for our immigration under F4 category ?? it will take atleast 12-14 years again for our file. At that time my son will be of 24-26 years . Can he get green card at that time ??
