Hi,

I've obtained reentry permit but coming back to US after 5 months abroad. I would like to know if the fact the I have REP effects my nationality "counter"(even though I never acceded 6 moths..)? Also, do I must present the REP to the INS officer then I return or since the duration is less then 6 months I don't have to..?

You need not show the RP unless you are asked about it. If you haven't taken many back-to-back 5-month-long trips, then you shouldn't be asked.

Your continuous residence for naturalisation purposes will not be affected, but it will eat out of your 5 years of physical presence, of which you must have at least 2.5 years.
