  • When and where do my family get the Green Card?

    We came to USA about almost 3 months from now, when do we get the Green Card? and how? from the Post Office ? and if i want to go now outside the US and i dont have the Card himself of the Green Card, in the airport they will know that i have it ? sorry for my english.

      What type of visa did you enter on? Did you pay the visa immigrant fee? When you filled out your immigrant visa application you did put address where they should send your green card and SSN did you get the SSN yet?

        1) it may take up to six months to get your grencard in the mail. And yes, USPS mail. Don't worry yet

        2) On your passport, you should have an I-551 stamp. AS LONG AS THE STAMP ISN'T EXPIRED (and it shouldn't - according to you, you've arrived three months ago - the stamp should be good for another nine months), you can freely travel outside the US and come back. That I-551 stamp in your passport is as good as a green card.
