  • LPR Re-entry Permit Application

    Hi,

As a new LPR, I would need longer time to plan for my relocation to US from Asia. I'm planning to apply for re-entry permit in Guam (closest US territory from Asia).

    My questions as follows :

    1. Can I get Re-entry Permit done in Guam?

    2. How long do I have to stay in Guam to get biometrics done?

    3. Is biometrics appointment notice send by post?

    4. Can an appointment notice to be sent via email?

    5. My last recorded local address was in Indiana, can I use a Postal Box as my corresponding address with USCIS?

    6. Can I travel out from Guam after application and come back for the biometrics appointment?

    7. Can I request the Re-entry Permit to be sent to US Consular office of my home country?

    Thank you!

THE REENTRY PERMIT IS PREPARED BY USCIS ON THE MAINLAND. YOU CAN APPLY FROM ANYWHERE IN THE U.S.

    2. How long do I have to stay in Guam to get biometrics done?

IN MOST LOCATIONS, THE BIOMETRICS ARE SCHEDULED ABOUT 4 OR 5 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION, I-131, IS RECEIVED BY USCIS.

    3. Is biometrics appointment notice send by post?

    YES.

    4. Can an appointment notice to be sent via email?

    NO.

    5. My last recorded local address was in Indiana, can I use a Postal Box as my corresponding address with USCIS?

YES, BUT PHYSICAL ADDRESS CHANGES MUST BE REPORTED TO USCIS WITHIN 10 DAYS OF CHANGES.

    6. Can I travel out from Guam after application and come back for the biometrics appointment?

SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM IF YOUR GREEN CARD IS CURRENT.

    7. Can I request the Re-entry Permit to be sent to US Consular office of my home country?

YES, THAT IS A STANDARD OPTION.

    Thank you!
