  • Lost Green Card.

    Hi Guys,
    POE: Dallas
    DOE: June, 9th, 2001

I moved to a new address on 09/01/01
requested mail forward service to my new address.
I filed a change of address form to INS on 9/01/01

    Haven't received my card yet.

Called TSC today, was informed that card was mailed on November, 3rd to my old address.

called Post Office, There was nothing there.

Do you think the GC is lost in the mail by now or there is still a chance I may get it? any experience please.

If it is lost, What should I do next ?

    Please help.
    Thanks.

If lost, file I90 at local INS office. This should be free if you never got it. There is good chance it was lost but also possible it was not, wait a while longer and then file. Maybe the card was received at your old address?

I am working with the Post Office carrier who
services my route and he is trying to locate it in the Post office or in my old mail box but so far no news.

The strange thing that both my card and my wife's card were not received.
I never lost any mail in this country, even after I moved, I am still getting the mails forwarded to my new address.
Don't you see it funny that the first mail I lose is our Green card ))))
Don't you see it more funny that both the cards were lost ?

      Thanks for your help.

        Lost Green Card

There is a possibility that the green cards were returned to the INS. I agree there are very few letters lost in mail.

          Re: Lost Green Card

The Green card were not reported as returned to INS as per the TSC representative.

Today, I've been to INS local office trying to file I90,

They asked me to mail it along with 2 pictures and a check of $110

Does this makes sense to anyone ?

          Thanks in advance

            Re: Lost Green Card

Per my first message, read instructions it says this should be free if you never got it.

may not be free! Not INS fault

The form I-90 states that only if you had problem with card DUE TO INS FAULT, its free. If its lost on its way, its not INS fault. At least, thats what I understand. I also believe my GC is lost in the post :-(. Never been able to contact TSC to find out if and when they sent it.

                Lost Green Card

I agree with you because the INS Officer in Dallas Office asked me to mail a check with $110 along with the I90 application.

I sent the application + 2 photos + the check in the mail about 2 weeks ago.
I received a Delivery confirmation on January, 15th.

I am still waiting for the interview letter ?

I called TSC, and they told me I should get an interview letter very soon as I90 is Current.

                Anyone with similar situation ?

                      Lost Green Card

                      Here is what happened:
                      POE: DFW Airport.
                      DOE: June/9/01
Changed my address on September, 1st.
                      Never received the card.
Called TSC, They told me tha card was mailed on November 3rd.

I went to INS Local Office in Dallas trying to file I90 stood in line, when got in, spoken to the Information desk, They told me I need to mail the application along with 2 photos and a check of $110

I asked 2 persons, They said the same thing.
They also told me that after I send the application in the mail, I should get an appointment letter.
So, I am waiting for that letter to come.
It has been 2 weeks since they received my application.

I called the INS National line to verify that the above procedure, They told me it depends on the INS local office, Some of them allow to apply in person, some asks you to mail.

If you applied for the I90 in person, You have nothing to do with the above scenario.

Anyone there with the same situation ?

                      Thanks.
