unempoyment benefits

I got my cp done last year Aug, last week I got laid-off
is it ok claim for unemployment benefits. Does it affect
anyway applying for citizenship.

It is OK to apply for unemployment benefit. That benefit comes out of the insurance for which premiums are paid by your employer when you are employed with them.

It does not come out in any way as welfare, public charge etc. Hence nothing to worry about.
