Hi,
I and my spouse have had a Green Card for the last 10 years. We're currently based in India on work assignment and cannot live in the US on a permanent basis, so would like to apply for 10-year Multiple Entry Visas and surrender the green card at the same time. I'm planning to apply for B-1 (Business) and my spouse, for a B-2 (Tourist/visitor visa) at the same time. Will get a letter from my employer to justify the B-1 Visa application.
This is not as common as the situation of applying for a B2 (Tourist visa) while surrendering one's green card, which I have come across successful examples of.
Wanted to check if there have been precedents of this situation before (i.e. B-1 and B-2 application for a couple, while surrendering the green cards) and if there are any potential issues/risks of such an application.
Please advise if you have come across such a situation, the outcome and any caveats to be aware of when applying.
thanks
