Does anyone know about unemployment benefits? When and how to avail this benefit?

I know green card holders are entitled for this benefit and require some kind of insurance thru employer to get this. Please throw some more light.

You are entitled to unemployment benefits as PR.
Look in immigration portal under after greencard, lots of posts about it.

I dig that forum deep and got valuable information in this regard. Unemployment compensation is an insurance benefit, paid to workers. I do not know whether my employer is registered for unemployment insurance.

Is there any place (website) where estimated unemployment benefit for a worker, in New Jersey, can be checked? (like the one www.esc.state.nc.us for North Carolina)

I was laid off 4 weeks ago and I am trying all possible ways to find a new job. I am on H1B, am I eligible to claim for unemployment insurance. Please reply ASAP.
