Green card while on vacation

Hi All,

I got email from USCIS that my green card is approved and will be delivered to my US address in next 15 days. Problem is I am on vacation and visiting my parents in India. I do have Advance Parole document with me. My question is will I need my green card in hand when I return to US in next 17-20 days.

Once the Green Card is issued, you are not supposed to use an Advance Parole (to return to the U.S.).

The amount of difficulty you may have at the Port of Entry depends on mood of the officer who interviews you and whether he has access to information about completion of your Green Card processing.
