    Travel while waiting for green card renewal

    Applied for green card renewal last year and about a month ago received a letter saying that have to wait another 6 more months.

    Question: can i travel outside US while green card still in renewal process? i have expired green card and a letter from USCIS about 6 month delay.

    Finger printing is all done and US green card expired back in march 2014.
