My company sponsored my I140 and I got my GC on July.
It is possible that the division of the company I work for will be sold (a lot of rumors going around) to a different company. My current company will continue to exist after that, without that sold division.
If this will take place, do I have to stay with the new company or can I opt to quit without fearing INS (I signed an affidavit I am going to work for my sponsor)?
Also, after such moves, there might be some layoffs, can I at least claim that potential layoffs as reason to quit?
I note that in my company there were 3 rounds of layoffs, which started few months before I got my GC and last one was few weeks ago.
