  • contract expiring

I returned on July 07 after successful cp. I joined my sponsoring employer. Now my contract is expiring on Sept 30.
My question is what are my options, if they do not give me new contract. Will it be treated as lay off? What kind of paper work should I ask for from the employer? What should I do if do not give me any paper work.
    Anybody with similar experience?
    Thanks

    Not legal advise:
Write an official letter and mention the I140 sponsoring and ask what their current intentions are and request an answer in writing.
If they will say they are not interested to renew, then keep this letter and enjoy your freedom.

What if they do not give any written reply and just verbally refuse? Can I still do something? What kind of papers should I save, which can be helpful in future like pay stubs etc.
      Thanks for your reply.

Try get something in writing, maybe even from your direct manager to show change of their intention. That should not be too hard.
If you are a contractor, I don't know what is your contract and how you may be notified of termination; read it carefully and know your rights.
