green card retaining help needed ?

hi,
i needed some information for my green card.i am residing outside US and i have a reentry permit valid till 2015 jan but i can not travel to US by this date due to some issue and i need further extension is there any other way out ?

You cannot extend a Reentry Permit. Your only option is to travel to the U.S. and apply for another Reentry Permit. If you don't come back before your Reentry Permit expires, you are risking cancellation of your Green Card status.

A Reentry Permit is not intended for the user to "reside" outside the U.S. You would be better off relinquishing your Green Card and asking for a multiple-entry visitor visa.
