Need help immediately on visitor visa rejection

My inlaw's visa got rejected on not showing sufficient proof of my Greencard. I got GC through consular processing last year. I am still waiting for plastic card and I have given my hopes on getting actual GC card.

The visa guys at Mumbai rejected my inlaw's visa due to the reason that I-551 stamp is not sufficient proof. This is so weired and it made me think GC is becoming more pain.

I am sending my Brother inlaw's visa papers. I am not sure whether it will cause any problems this time for my inlaw's to get the visa since last time they went for the interview on my documents and visa got rejected.

Any ideas?

Please consider following suggestion (NOT legal advise):

The problem with I-551 stamp may be that photo copy does not prove YOU have it in YOUR passport (I don't know that for a fact). If A# is not in INS system, they cannot verify identity of passport holder.

If this visit is important to you, consider consulting with a lawyer.
You may also photo copy I-551 and try to notarize the copy by having you sign a short statement saying it belongs to you (I don't have experience to show it will work).

visitor visa rejection

There must be some other problem. For visitor visa sponsor, you don't need the green card.
My mother and brother-in-law and mother-in-law came when I was on H1. Recently sponsored my niece for F1 and she got the visa. I just completed CP in May and am waiting for plastic.

Make sure that you send I-134 form duly filled and notarized, along with a bank statement and a letter from your employer. Basically they want to see two things
1. when you apply for NIV, you don't have intention to stay[ tough situations being- you're
bringing your brother on F1.. or you're bringing your mother and there is nobody related to
her/ she does not work.
2. You can support the person financially.

In one case my brother-in-law's F1 visa was rejected twice because both his sisters were here.
Now consulate was very right in assuming that he may immigrate with F1 ( nobody has gone
back :-). We worked around this issue through a ministerial contact and he got the visa!!

If nothing works, try to contact your congressman/senator through a US citizen[ may be your
brother/cousin etc. who can also sponsor your relatives] . With green card, you are still not a voter and these guys don't give a damn.

Recvd Visitor Visa for my parents just with I-551

my mom got it thru I551 stamp only

My mom got 5 years Visitor visa at Delhi consulate. She was asked lot of questions regarding finance (her own and my fathers), family in India and US, officer asked many times if daughter was pregnent etc.
Then she said my H1 is cancelled, how can I sponsor her. She said that so many times but my mom said that she should look at the page with yellow stick-note. Thanks God I had commented about my PR status on it and put it on left top corner of I 551 stamp page (copy). My mother had to explain to the officer the situation. I had put the same on a letter to consulate also.
Finally she got it.
