Entering US after getting GC through CP at Chennai

Hi !,
My husband is the primary applicant for GC ( EB2 , CP ). After completing all the formalities at Chennai ( for CP interview), is it necessary for the primary applicant( my husband) to be present with me to re-enter US. ( since my husband would like to stay back for a month and I can't). Will we be actually given the GC at Chennai ?.

Hi,

Your husband (primary applicant) has to enter the US first. You can either come with him or later (you will get six months to enter the visa). You will be given an immigrant visa to enter the US (not GC). Your passport will be stamped at the port of entry (the airport where you enter the US) after taking finger prints. The plastic card will be mailed to you once you enter the US.
