Help needed with information about Re-entry permit!

Hi everybody!

Hope you are doing well!

I wanted to know more about the re-entry permit
My uncle had filed an immigration for my mom and the family. We have our green cards, and had applied for re-entry permit for two years, which was granted.
My question is, Re-entry permit give us the right to stay outside US lawfully for two years right?
So, not going for 2 complete years(having a re-entry permit), does it affect our Green Card status, or our entire amount of stay in US earlier, in any way?
Also, does any of us need to keep going to US every 6 months or less(even though we Have a re-entry permit), in order to keep the status alive? or we are in safe hands with a re-entry permit and there is nothing to worry about?

Kindly, guide me on this please!

It depends...

Technically, once you get the reentry permit, you should be fine. You are certainly not required to stay out for the full two years. But whenever you come back to the U.S. (no matter how soon), you should make sure you are carrying evidence that you have maintained your connection to the U.S. (bank and residential documents, etc.).

For further understanding,

We have been going to US after getting a green card for every 6 months for first 2 years because it was difficult to settle all at once, being less financially strong.
This entire stay of coming and going to US adds up to 7 months.

Our credit history is Zero for now.
Now, in August 2014 we got the re entry permit for 2 years..(Me, Mom & Dad)
Mom still went to US in January 2015 while Dad and I could not. (within 6 months)

So, is it necessary for us to keep going within every 6 months even though we have are-entry permit? Because I heard our stay in US will become Zero and we have to start from scratch.

And our '7 month stay in US' will still be in their records when we return after 2 years? Or will it become NIL?

While being on a 2 year re-entry, Can we go anytime in between and get a bank account?

Please answer these questions and if there is any confusion in understanding the situation let me know.
