Hi,
I received my green card several months ago (10 year green car, my wife and I were married for over two years before we applied because I had a valid visa here) and USCIS had spelt my name incorrectly. I filed Form i90 saying that it was a USCIS error, and thus paid no fee. Yesterday, I received an notice on my USCIS account saying that they have denied my claim for a new green card (no other details given), but I have not received anything in the mail from them yet explaining why (should come in a few days). I went back to search all the forms we submitted, and found that in one place (on one form), I had actually misspelled my own name by accident because I was tired of filling out all the forms, and made a simple spelling error. Therefore, I probably need to pay the fee, but I have already been denied. I am really worried about this, because I planned on going out of the country on vacation in a couple of months. Has anyone had this experience before? Do I get a chance to re-apply and pay the fee, or just pay the fee and they send me the new card without having to do the biometrics again?
Thanks,
-E
