General questions about getting the green card and applying for a re-entry permit
Hi, i won a green card in the lottery last year and my visa was issued about a month ago and i'm planning to go to the US in 3 months. My general plan is to go to the US, receive the green card, get a re-entry permit, come back to my country (to finish my bachelor) and so on, but there are some questions that have been troubling my mind recently, and i thought this site could be a great place to ask it 
1. On average, how long does it take for a green card to be physically sent to the address given on the forms?
2. I've read on some threads of this site that it's okay for us to leave the US before we receive the green card, that the green card could be received by a friend living in the place that it's adress had been given and be sent to us later. is that true?
3. Do i need to have, or present the actual green card in order to file for a re-entry permit? (in other words, can i ask for an appointment date for the biometrics prior to getting the actual-physical green card? if so, is it possible make an appointment even before landing in the US?)
P.S. : The actual winner of the green card was my mother and i am in her case, so we are two people who want to go through the procedure, though i dont think it'd make any difference
