Reentry permit still pending can I Travel to Canada for a weekend?

Hello

My brother and family are very recent green card holders, just arrived in US month ago. They came for the first time my brother, his wife and 2 kids.

Now They have applied for Reentry permit (I131) as they are planning to go back to India for more than a year..

They are planning to go to Canada during Memorial weekend (May 22nd) will return on May 25th/ 26th. Thei (all four of them) bio matrics / finger print appointment is on May 27th as part of I131 application process

is there any risk involved in reentering US from Canada? They have their new green card with them.

Will their pending reentry permit be jeopardize?

Try to do a walk in just present your appoinment letter. My original biomentric appoinment is on the 20th but I did my biometric last May 12th in SFO without any questions by the officer.

Thanks for your reply. We do not want early bio matrics appointment but want to know if reentry could be a problem. They have their GC so technically there shouldn't be any problem. I know with advance parole (I131) you cannot leave US if application is still pending but this is reentry permit (same form/ application I131), as they already got their green cards.
I am afraid what if they consider reentry permit application abandoned too, as they can with advance parole?
