ReEntry Permit applications / Retaining Green Card

my first question is: how often can a Green Card holder apply for a ReEntry permit when the USC spouse works overseas (not military or government job) I heard from some People that they apply for a reentry permit for the Last 10 -15 years without any issues others say that it might be difficult to get a third or forth reentry permit...

And Second question: if i stay for 7 months in the USA every year and 5 months abroad and keep doing this for a couple years, will my green card be in danger?

Number of Reentry Permits allowed is discretinary. The general experience is that the third Reentry Permit is probably the hardest and often limited to a shorter period of time,if even approved.
