Asking for a friend--
She got divorced and went back to her home country, Japan without applying for the re-entry permit.
She has her 10-year GC already. Last year, she went to the US for 10 days and she was told that as long
as she won't be gone for more than a year, she should be fine. It's been 10 months since she came back
to Japan from that 10-day US trip.
Now, she's planning on going back for a 2-week vacation, then planning on moving for good mid next year.
Will she have any problems with the Homeland Security at the airport? Any experience or tips would help.
We're not sure if she will get away with a warning or a fine, but she's nervous her GC might be confiscated.
