I lived in the us from 1977 to 1982 when I was a baby and was issued with a Green card / Alien registration receipt with no expiry date while I was there. I've wanted to return to live in the us for many years now. I visit quite often for holiday and visiting relatives I'm looking for some advice using the sb1 / ds 117 process. I've recently read on this site and others that people have had their green card reinstated as they left the us without any control over it.
