i-551 stamp

I Entered the US on the 10th December 2015. I have the i-551 stamp on my foreign passport and was endorsed 'Admitted IR1' at the POE. I am yet to received my plastic GC. I came with my daughter and I have my wife here who is a US Citizen. I have a bank account and SS number. I have an urgent issue to sort back home.

Would it be OK to travel internationally with only the endorsed i-551 stamp on my passport and reenter with no problem?

Did you pay the $165 Green Card fee yet? After the fee is paid, it will take 30-90 days to received the Green Card.

Though the I-551 stamp is supposed to allow international travel, there have been reports of users having difficulty reentering the U.S. with just the I-551 stamp and no Green Card.
