How to get I551 stamp when getting a replacement GC

There was an USCIS administrative error on my GC. The date of birth was not correct.
The I90 form and the website tells me to mail I90 and send the original GC.
It does not tell me how to get I551 stamp so I can travel if need arises.
...
Also, does anyone know how long it takes to get a replacement card?
