Hi,
I looked all over the internet but couldn't find an answer to my particular situation.
I studied in the US on an F1 visa, got married to my American wife and graduated last summer. We then moved to Europe, where I started a 2-3 year postdoctoral job. In the near future, we want to move back and work&live in the US. The main thing I cannot figure out is when to start applying for the green card. If everything goes well I should have the green card around 6 months after the start of the application but how long do we have then (i.e., after getting the Green Card) to leave Europe, find a job in the US and move there before I lose the green card again due to not being present in the country?
Minor question: Since my American wife lives with me in europe, we should apply through the USCIS Frankfurt Field Office, correct?
Any help is highly appreciated!
Thanks,
ctk
