I got my GC on EB2, i-140 was petitioned by my employer, i-485 was petitioned by me.
My case briefly is as follows,
After I got my EAD, my employer did not want to hire me within his company claiming that I m not eligible for W4 and I am eligible for W9. in my field of work, it's highly liable and dangerous to work as a private contractor. I was never offered a job agreement or anything whatsoever to prove his intent for employment.
I am totally aware of the 180 days before the switch but I couldn't survive this period without a job.
anyway, we agreed to separate and I got a job within my same profession 2 months before GC. My lawyer now says that immigration could open my case again in case I apply for naturalization (citizenship) and hence considering the fact that I did not work for my petitioning employer, my GC could be revoked!
what are my chances here and what could I get from my old employer to protect myself later?
