Hello guys,
I'm a 20 yo son of a naturalized american citizen, turning 21 next May, and enrolled in medical school outside of the US. I'm planning on filing the I-130 before I turn 21, so that I can possibly receive my GC before I graduate from medical school, which will be in 3.5 years, an then apply for a residency spot in the US. My doubt is, assuming that I do receive my GC let's say in a year from now, still 2.5 years away from graduation, will I have trouble staying outside of the US for that period of time? If yes, is there a way I can be allowed to finish my studies here while retaining my GC?
Thank you in advance.
