Please help : Will I receive greencard after I pay or upon arrival?
Hi, I have paid for my greencard online before my arrival to the country. I have a job here for now that does not allow me to stay away too long. I have already paid for the greencard but I have not arrived to the country yet. I have checked my status and it's been at processing for about 2 months after I paid. Will I have to arrive to the country for my greencard to be mailed? If so, will I have to wait a full 120 days?

1. Are you a new GC holder (new lawful permanent resident / LPR)?
2. Have you activated your GC/LPR status? (activating means, once you receive your passport from US embassy, you have to enter USA before your Immigrant Visa expires - usually 5-6 months AFTER you got your passport back, entering the USA will trigger the GC production).
3. If you have not activated your GC/LPR status, the Green Card will not yet be produced.
4. It should take 1 month after the entry/activation to get the green card mailed to the address you chose in your DS 260.
IMPORTANT: you can only change you address in where the GC will be mailed at PORT OF ENTRY WHEN YOU ACTIVATED YOUR GC/LPR STATUS. Failure to change it this time will cause the GC to be mailed to the old address and nothing you can do about it.
