green card replacement

In my green card they misspelled my first name, so I applied for replacement in may of 2005. I moved out of my old address in Feb 2006. I did file AR-11 and called the office to inform my address change.

Now they sent a letter on may 11th to old address requesting to send original green card and passport copy and photo's

1. I am scared to send origina greencard because it may take long time for them to replace.

2. They can send it old address and I may not get the card at all.

3. I am planning to go out of USA shortly.

Mistake in my first name is not a bad one. should i just withdraw application and adjust this during citizen ship process?

any thoughts and advise?
