Green Card & Reentry Permit I131 Question

Hello,

I am living in Asia with my US citizen husband for his overseas posting. I have a valid Reentry permit that expires in July 2020. However my green card expiration is June 2019. My question is as follows:

Does the I-131 Rentry Permit allow me to return to the United States even after the Green Card expiration date?

It will be great hardship for me to return to the United States for 2 months for Green Card renewal process before our time overseas is finished. That is why I am hoping I can get the answer to this Q.
