  • Do permanent residents have i94?

Hi guys. I have a really weird question, but i hope you will help me.

Today i traveled alone with my permanent resident card (marriage based) for the first time to visit my family . After arriving to my motherland, i check online i noticed that i dont have a new i94. Is this normal?? My paranoid mind is telling me that they didn't know that i was a permanent resident (since I didnt show my card when departing, only passport" and that i wont be able to come back? Is this possible? Am I crazy? Please help because im panicing I mean how do they know that we are now legal residents (because i did had a visa overstay for most a year)? thank you so much guys.

I94 determines the length of legal stay in the US for a person holding non-immigrant visa. So, I94 is issued only upon entry in to the US using a non-immigrant visa. You will not get anything upon departure.
Just an opinion; Not legal advice.

Thank you so much for your reply.

What am now wondering is is there a change that they banned me from entering usa because i did have an illegal overstay of my visa, even tho I am a green card holder, since i had that visa in my passport?

Hope somebody knows this, because i have been really stressed and upset since arriving.

It is normal. As a permanent resident you don't have or need an I-94. You have a green card, or other equivalent form of I-551, to prove permanent resident status in the US.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
