  • Possibility of 2nd re entry permit

    hello,

i have a GC already and i had stayed in the US for a month. while staying in the US, i had filed a re entry permit because i need to be back to the phil to study. I was given a re entry permit and it will expire on feb2008, im planning to return to the US by dec 2007 to pass another re entry permit because i am not yet done or not yet graduating until july 2008 and return to the phil to continue studying. is it possible that my re entry permit will be accepted for the 2nd time? what other ways should i do?
will this affect my LPR? thanks

You can always fine another one. However, if you are not staying in the US, and green card is for the purpose of staying in the US, your reentry permit application may be denied and you may loose your green card.

          Hi Immihelp,

What is the possibility of him not filing for another re-entry but making trips back during his school breaks maybe twice a year? Will that penalize him if he make his appearance twice a year on U.S. soil just to keep his immigrant status?

It is difficult to keep the green card if you are really not living in US. Just making few trips does NOT really help much.
